(Cedar Rapids IA) June 30, 2025 – GreatAmerica Financial Services® announced the completion of its Employee Advised Fund spring 2025 grant cycle, awarding $250,000 to nonprofits in the Eastern Iowa area. This marks the first of two giving cycles in 2025. The Employee Advised Fund empowers GreatAmerica employees to make charitable giving decisions by voting on nonprofit applications, directly impacting worthy organizations in the community.
“Our employees continue to inspire us with their commitment to giving back. Through this fund, they are not only supporting vital community organizations, they are also shaping the future of our region with compassion and purpose,” states Martin Golobic, Chief Executive Officer.
From a slate of 28 applicants, 17 nonprofits were awarded grants ranging from $2,058 to $25,000. The recipients of the spring 2025 cycle include:
Big Brothers Big Sisters of Cedar Rapids & East Central Iowa, Catherine McAuley Center, Cedar Rapids Public Library Foundation, Cedar Valley Habitat for Humanity, ChildServe Foundation, Inc., Freedom Foundation, HACAP / Meals from the Heartland, I Know Jack Foundation, Inc., Indian Creek Nature Center, Kids First Law Center, Linn County Trails Association, Miracles in Motion Therapeutic Equestrian Center, NewBo City Market, State University of Iowa Foundation, Trees Forever, Worldmaker Resilience Institute, Young Parents Network dba YPN.
This is the fifth round of giving for the GreatAmerica Employee Advised Fund, which started in 2022. Total giving to date through the EAF now stands at $1,250,000. The next grant cycle will open for applications in September 2025 and can be accessed at https://www.greatamerica.com/giving. Nonprofits (registered 501(c)(3) organizations) must have a GreatAmerica employee sponsor to apply. The awards focus on four areas: health and human services; arts and culture; environment; and public projects.
